Born in 1954, Mr. Beck is holding a Master’s Degree of Control/Automation Technology of the Technical University of Darmstadt – Germany.
He started his career in the Air Cargo industry in 1979 as a Software-Automation Engineer being involved in various Air Cargo Handling System projects and implementations.
In 1992 he joint Loedige Industries and became the world-wide General Manager for Air Cargo Handling Systems. During his tenure with Loedige he was head of the design team for the British World Cargo Centre in London Heathrow and was also involved in a leading management position for the SATS T5 project in Singapore as well as NCA at JFK Airport.
In 1996 he co-founded Advanced Logistic Systems (ALS), which became in the years one of the leading suppliers for Air Cargo Handling Systems in the world. During this period, ALS managed quite a lot of new projects, like the dnata Freightgate 5 and Thai Airways at Survarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok.
2009 Mr.Beck established BeCon Projects as one of the leading Air Cargo Consulting companies for Air Cargo facilities, providing detailed analyses for air cargo terminal performance; custom tailored engineering & IT solutions as well as conceptual architectural designs for air-cargo terminals. Major projects are the new Finnair Cargo COOL Hub in Helsinki and the new freighter cargo terminal of Emirates Cargo at DWC, Dubai.
Besides consulting on the design of air-cargo terminals, BeCon Projects is well positioned to perform operational process reviews & process re-engineering, introducing new IT technologies into existing GHA/Air Cargo warehouse environments and to provide entire project management services from the design stage till operational readiness.
